Geoop’s vision is to make geothermal energy available as a heat source for society.
mission is to promote geothermal energy as part of the green agenda and develop geothermal resources on the same scale as wind energy. Geoop aspires to become the operator of geothermal projects for district heating companies, resulting in greater operating efficiency and cost reduction.
Geoop offers interested district heating companies a roadmap for developing and operating geothermal projects.
The Subsurface Act in Denmark places requirements on geothermal operating companies with respect to the technical expertise and financial backing, which Geoop can help district heating companies achieve.
The 3rd annual geothermal conference was held in Fællessalen at Christiansburg on the 27th February 2019. The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Heating for the future (Fremtidens Varme)’ and the event saw presentations from Danish minister of Energy, Utilities and Climate Lars Christian Lilleholt and from the Dutch director-general of Climate and Energy Sandor Gaastra among others.
